Information we collect

Information you give us. When you register for the Event, sign up for updates, apply to speak or sponsor, or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, company, job title, and any other details you choose to share.

Event registration and payments. Registration and ticketing are handled by Luma. When you register, Luma collects your registration and payment information under its own privacy policy. Luma shares with us the information you provide on the registration form, such as your name, email address, company, job title, and answers to any registration questions. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we collect information that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visit. We also use cookies and analytics tools, described below.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Register you for the Event and send event updates, reminders, and logistics
  • Respond to your questions and requests
  • Understand how visitors use the Site and improve it
  • Send you occasional emails about future Previsible events and content. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect the security of the Site and the Event

How we share your information

We will not rent or sell your personal information to anyone. We share it only in these limited cases:

  • Service providers and team members who need the information to run the Site and the Event, such as Luma (registration and ticketing) and our website hosting provider, and who are required to keep it confidential
  • Our charity partner, Mission Bit, limited to aggregate information such as total tickets sold and funds raised. We do not share attendee names, email addresses, or any other information that identifies you with Mission Bit.
  • Legal and safety purposes, if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Previsible, attendees, or the public
  • Business transfers, if Previsible is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case your information may be transferred as part of that transaction and remain subject to this policy

Our service providers, including Luma and Google, may store and process information in the United States and other countries. We work with providers that use reasonable safeguards to protect the information they handle on our behalf.

Photography and recording

Photos and video will be taken at the Event and may be used in Previsible and Bay Area Search promotional materials, including our website, social media, and future event marketing. We will post notice of photography at the venue.

If you prefer not to be photographed, let a member of our team know at check-in. If you appear in a photo or video we’ve published and would like it removed, contact us using the details below and we will make reasonable efforts to remove it.

Cookies and analytics

A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device. We use cookies to understand how visitors use the Site and to improve your experience. You can set your browser to refuse cookies, though some features of the Site may not work as intended.

We use Google Analytics 4, which collects information such as the pages you visit, time spent on the Site, general location (city or region), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the Site. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. We do not use advertising pixels or cross-site advertising trackers on the Site.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any message. If you’d like to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, contact us using the details below.

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law.

Data security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Site may link to other websites, including Luma, Mission Bit, Previsible, and our sponsors. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If we make material changes to how we use your personal information, we will provide notice before the change takes effect, and we will ask for your consent where the law requires it.
